Terms of Use
Actually (Verify AI) · Last updated August 24, 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the Actually iPhone application and related services (“the App”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms.
1. License (Apple Standard EULA)
The App is licensed, not sold, to you for use under Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. You can read it here: Apple Standard EULA. Where these Terms and the Apple EULA conflict for App Store use, the applicable Apple terms govern.
2. The service
Actually helps you fact-check content on your iPhone by capturing what you choose to check, extracting a claim, and searching for sources that support or refute it. Features, limits, and availability may change over time.
3. AI and accuracy
Actually uses AI to suggest fact-checks. Results may be incomplete or incorrect, and are provided for information only. They are not professional, legal, medical, financial, or journalistic advice. Always verify important claims against the cited sources yourself before relying on them.
4. Accounts
Some features require an account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in secure and for activity under your account. You may delete your account at any time from the App's Settings.
5. Subscriptions and payments
Auto-renewable subscriptions are sold only through Apple In-App Purchase:
- Actually Monthly renews every 1 month. Actually Yearly renews every 1 year.
- Prices are shown in the App and charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Manage or cancel anytime in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple.
- The optional 7-day trial is free account access, not an App Store purchase; you are not charged unless you choose a paid plan and confirm the purchase with Apple.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the App, including by: using it to capture content you have no right to record; attempting to break, overload, or reverse-engineer the service; using it for unlawful, harassing, or infringing purposes; or circumventing usage limits or security. We may suspend or terminate access for violations.
7. Content and intellectual property
You retain rights to content you submit. You grant us a limited license to process that content to provide fact-checking (including sending it to the AI providers described in our Privacy Policy). The App, its branding, and its original content are owned by us and protected by law.
8. No warranty
The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that fact-check results are accurate or complete, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for decisions made in reliance on fact-check results. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above will change when we do. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
